Research interests
My research activities are focused on understanding materials behaviour using the relationship between microstructure and their service life, so their optimization and the development of new materials able to face critical challenges. Using experimental techniques of characterization, combined with analytical and numerical approaches, I am keen on working on materials applied under hostile environment and high temperatures such as refractory ceramics, metals and alloys. Specifically, my research interests revolve around materials employed in energy-related applications, with a focus on fusion energy, photovoltaics, as well as the steel-making and aerospace industries. By directing my efforts towards these areas, I aspire to contribute to advancements in material science, enabling the development of robust solutions capable of withstanding extreme conditions.
