Biography
I am a Senior Clinical Research Fellow at Bristol Medical School - Translational Health Science. I have many years of experience in clinical research in cardiovascular medicine. I am a translational research scientist with an interest in the development and clinical application of new medical devices/medications in cardiovascular medicine. I have a large experience in biostatistics and data science and I am currently a Deputy Statistical Editor for the Journal of Thoracic and Cardiovascular Surgery.
Research interests
Translational Cardiovascular Research
As a senior academic fellow in translational health science, my primary interest lies in models of myocardial infarction (MI), myocardial ischemia-reperfusion injury, surgical vascular replacement as well as percutaneous transcatheter placement of intravascular devices. These models are highly relevant to human applications and are used to develop and test new drugs and devices.
Clinical Research
In the clinical research field, I have led and contributed to several retrospectives and prospective studies in the field of Cardiothoracic Surgery, focusing my research on coronary surgery and mitral valve surgery. I have large experience with database validation, advanced statistical analysis, and data presentation.
