Biography
I have worked at Bristol since 2015 having completed my PhD at Royal Holloway, University of London. My teaching and research focuses on the international relations and political economy of East Asia, with a particular focus on the role of secondary powers in managing the region's uncertain geopolitical and geoeconomic environment. I have published on the role of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) in negoiating and managing order in Southeast and East Asia from the early years of the Cold War to the present day. I am now working on a collaborative project on the UK's Indo-Pacific tilt strategy and UK engagement with Southeast Asia.
