Research interests
My PhD research focuses on the intersections of law, gender and migration, and the right to health, with a specific focus on how English mental health laws and policies influence the embodied and lived experiences of Filipino migrant women. Using an intersectional feminist lens, I am interested in examining how sustainable and justice-oriented structural transformation can be achieved through shared care and collective accountability. I am jointly supervised by Professor Judy Laing and Professor John Coggon.
I have a broad interest in public and global health law, including the legal determinants of health, migrant health, transnational care practices, sexual and reproductive health and rights, tobacco control, structural health inequalities, and public health emergency preparedness.
Aside from research, I also teach on LLM-level modules, including Health Inequalities, Law, and Society (where I deliver the learning cycle on migration and health) and Public and Global Health Law (where I deliver a learning cycle on tobacco control). I developed the lesson plans for both cycles and am responsible for delivering lectures and facilitating seminars.
Please feel free to contact me if you are interested in potential research collaborations or transdisciplinary dialogue.
