Dr Matthew Letts is an NIHR Doctoral Fellow at the University of Bristol.
His doctoral fellowship, DEPILL-CKD - DEPrescribing In peopLe Living with advanced Chronic Kidney Disease: understanding patterns and outcomes, will use population-level electronic health record data to characterise deprescribing practices in routine care and to examine their associations with clinical outcomes. Working with Professors Fergus Caskey, Jonathan Sterne and Rupert Payne (University of Exeter), and Dr Rachel Denholm, he will apply longitudinal modelling techniques and causal inference methods to generate evidence to support safer and more effective medicines optimisation for those living with advanced kidney disease.
