I have published work on theoretical and methodological issues in the social sciences in journals such as Philosophy of the Social Sciences and Journal for the Theory of Social Behaviour. A comprehensive statement of my position, which draws on the Wittgensteinian tradition of conceptual analysis applying it to theoretical issues regarding, among others, social ontology, realism and ‘the problem of structure an agency’ can be found in my 2015 monograph, entitled Clarity and Confusion in Social Theory: Taking Concepts Seriously (Routledge). Currently, I am working on a number of topics including a conceptual clarification of ‘the emotions’ as a sociological topic and the intersection between utopian thinking and the sociology of race.
