Biography
I am a Senior Lecturer in Policy Studies with Quantitative Research Methods and member of the Centre for the Study of Poverty and Social Justice (School for Policy Studies). My research is interdisciplinary and primarily quantitative combining aspects of sociology, social policy and economics to answer questions related to well-being, gender and the labour market over the life course.
Prior to uptaking this academic position I was a Lecturer in Social Policy at the University of Kent (UK). I hold an BSc degree in Economics (University of Salamanca, Spain), a MSc degree in Social Policy (University of Leuven, Belgium) and a PhD in Sociology (University of Cambridge, UK).
In between my studies, I worked for public and private sector organisations in Madrid, Brussels and London.
Research interests
My research is interdisciplinary and empirically oriented. I use quantitative and comparative research methods to investigate questions related to the life course and family and individual economic and subjective well-being.
