EDI and DECOLONISING THE CURRICULUM: Jenny is an active member of the School and curriculum EDI groups. She co-leads on decolonisation across the school and in the new BVSC28 curriculum.
TEACHING: Jenny is working collaboratively to better understand the role of legitimate peripheral participation for students at external clinical veterinary placements.
CLINICAL: As a first opinion equine clinician Jenny's main role is as a veterinary surgeon treating the patients of Langford Equine Practice. Jenny collaborates with colleagues in the university to provide data and samples, with informed consent, from clinical cases to support research particularly within equine dentistry skin conditions including equine sarcoids and sweet itch. Her clinical interests are wide and varied, she takes particular pleasure from working cases from the outset to the end, be that medical or surgical. Jenny successfully completed her certificate in advanced veterinary practice in equine surgery:soft tissue in 2014 and shortly after she obtained Fellowship of the Higher Education Academy. Jenny enjoys creating a strong working bond with her clients and enjoys discussing this role with students with reference to their professional studies module.
FUTURE: She would be interested in opportunities to collaborate on work including imporved clinical decision making and the transition to university as she is also active in the teaching of these areas.
