Research interests
I am interested in exploring relationality and complexity within processes of change for individuals, groups, organisations, systems, ecologies… I bring to this a background in design and an interest in process philosophy, and the use of speculative arts-informed practices. I am interested in how arts practices offer potential as a means of engagement with the complexity of a situation and have spent recent years exploring the potential of experimental mapmaking as a mode of engagement with both spatial and temporal plurality of our everyday lives. My PhD project was a participatory project working with young people in Bristol using mapmaking to reimagine their sense of self and the world around them. Current research work includes British Academy and ESRC-funded projects that partner policymakers and community groups to explore the use of visualisation as a tool for gaining awareness of how timing and rhythm work in sustainability transitions.
