Biography
In August 2007, I moved to Bristol and joined the University the Bristol as a PhD candidate and a Instituto Camões language assistant. My thesis was a comparison between the roles of rural landscape in the short stories of Portuguese writer Miguel Torga and Chinese writer Han Shaogong.
I have been teaching Portuguese and non-language units at HiPLA / School of Modern Languages since 2007/08.

Prison literature in the context of Portuguese and Brazilian dictatorships.
Comparative Literature: Chinese and Portuguese 20th-century fiction
'Res Sinicae' project (Classics, University of Lisbon): edition and translation into Portuguese of 'Sapientia Sinica', i.e., the Analects of Confucius in Latin translation, Chinese text, and romanisation of Chinese text.
After having spent four years in Beijing, I moved to Bristol as a PhD student. I ended up staying in Bristol and consider myself a bit Bristolian now.
