Research interests
Danlu Chen is a PhD candidate based in the School of Modern languages at the University of Bristol. She has wide-ranging interdisciplinary research interests in the senses and the body, medical humanities, disability studies, railway travel, and gender and sexuality. Her PhD project lies in comparative, trans-cultural analysis of nineteenth-century French and British literatures through the lens of multi-sensory studies, with a particular focus on the interplay between the senses and those beyond the traditional five senses.
