Research interests
I am a vascular surgeon with a research interest in evidence based practice. My research is focussed on improving clinical outcomes for patients and I am the chief investigator or a collaborator on NIHR funded multicenter randomised trials such as CLARITY PAD.
I am the systematic review section editor of the European Journal of Vascular and Endovascular Surgery and I sit on the European Society for Vascular Surgery guidelines steering committee which is responsible for producing the most widely used clinical practice guidelines for vascular surgery. I chair the antithrombotic guideline and co-chair the upcoming amputation guideline for the European Society of Vascular Surgery.
I am co-lead for the Aneurysm, Peripheral Arterial Disease and Stroke unit of the MSc in Translational Cardiovascular Medicine at the University of Bristol.
