Dr Anna McNaughton is a multidisciplinary researcher in infectious diseases, with broad expertise combining virology, genomics, epidemiology, and global health. Her research has focused particularly on viral hepatitis, including hepatitis B virus (HBV), investigating its epidemiology, transmission, evolution, and prevention in diverse settings. She has also worked on emerging and epidemic infections, including SARS-CoV-2. Across these areas, she is interested in understanding infectious diseases from both a biological and population perspective, and in how this knowledge can be applied in different global health contexts.
