Research interests
Anna is a Health Psychologist and Senior Research Associate. She uses qualitative and co-design methods to develop behaviour change interventions. Her primary interest is in reducing the impact of chronic pain on individuals and society. Anna has also worked on projects in adolescent health, psycho-oncology, and sleep behaviour.
Anna completed a PhD in Psychology at the University of Southampton, specialising in the development of multidisciplinary pain management interventions for young people. She works with UK charities to involve people with painful musculoskeletal disorders in her research.
Anna has collaborated on interdisciplinary and international research, including the development of patient-reported outcome measures in collaboration with the European Organization for Research and Treatment of Cancer (EORTC) and Netherlands Cancer Institute (NKI).
At the University of Bristol, Anna is is part of the Musculoskeletal Research Unit (MRU) and the Health Protection Research Unit (HPRU). In the MRU, She is currently working on developing non-pharmacological interventions to improve chronic musculoskeletal pain. This includes psychological and behavioural co-interventions for people undergoing joint replacement, and multidisciplinary interventions for people with hypermobility spectrum disorders and hypermobile Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome. In the HPRU, she is working on a project to improve the uptake of vaccinations in underserved groups.
