Research interests
Andrea’s research interests are currently focussed on healthcare and the NHS and include: the role of management consultants; knowledge management; quality and service improvement.
Andrea's PhD at the University of Bristol was entitled ‘Developing a reputation-based theory of accountability: The case of management consultants in the NHS’.
Andrea has been working in the NHS for 10 years. Her current role is Improvement Evidence Lead at Somerset NHS Foundation Trust, where she leads local and national drives to connect research, evidence and knowledge with service and quality improvement activity. Andrea is founder of the national ‘Evidence for Quality Improvement’ community within the NHS.
Andrea also has operational and management experience in the NHS, having worked with multiple specialties and operational teams including paediatrics, maternity, respiratory, ophthalmology, day surgery, operating theatres, private patients and outpatients.
Prior to joining the NHS Andea spent 13 years in the private sector as a Senior Manager at the Royal Bank of Scotland and as a Management Consultant for Accenture and IBM Business Consulting Services. She has an MBA from London Business School and an MA in Law from Oxford.
