Bristol alumni open doors with donation of £100k to University scholarship fund

Press release issued: 10 May 2018

More talented international students will be able to realise their dream of studying at a prestigious UK institution thanks to the generosity of Bristol alumni who have contributed £100k to the University’s scholarship fund, Think Big.

Late last year the University of Bristol announced a £500k investment in scholarships to attract the best and brightest international students from around the world.

The £100k from alumni donors will complement the University’s half-million investment and will provide additional scholarship opportunities for students in Hong Kong, Malaysia and Singapore.

The core Think Big scholarship fund is open to all international students who have applied for a place at Bristol to study undergraduate or postgraduate-taught degrees starting in 2018.

University of Bristol Vice-Chancellor and President, Professor Hugh Brady, said: “I am constantly inspired by the generosity of our alumni. This extra £100k will open the door for many talented students who might otherwise have been unable to fund a degree in the UK.

“We are proud that Bristol consistently ranks among the top universities worldwide. Through the Think Big Scholarship Programme we hope to attract more of the best and brightest minds from across the globe and in doing so, to nurture the next generation of international leaders.”
