Around 150 representatives from countries including the USA, Canada, South Africa, Israel and China took part in the Conference, whose theme was ‘The changing roles of universities in social and economic development’. Ian Wei, Senior Lecturer in Medieval European History at Bristol, co-convened the three-day event with Professor Xu Xiaozhou from Zhejiang University and Professor Adam Nelson from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Nine delegates from Bristol attended, comprising academics from the Faculty of Social Sciences and Law, the Academic Registrar and the WUN Development Manager.
