The British Science Association is inviting applications for its 2012 Media Fellowship scheme, which gives scientists with a chance to gain first-hand experience of how science is reported.

The scheme enables scientists, social scientists, engineers and clinicians to spend three to eight weeks over the summer with hosts including the BBC, The Guardian and Nature to produce accurate, well-informed news about developments in science, and work alongside the UK’s top science editors in the British Science Festival Press Centre.

The deadline for applications is 11 March. More information, including eligibility criteria, experiences from past media Fellows and application form, is available online.
