Faculty Student Advice Service
Our Faculty of Health Sciences Student Advice Service provides friendly, private advice and support to all students within the Faculty of Health Sciences. The service exists separately to any academic programmes to give students the confidence to speak openly.
We recognise that most students will encounter circumstances that may impact on their studies at some point during their time at university. Our advice service works to help students identify the issues impacting on their wellbeing and outline the services within university and wider community that can best support them.
We’re happy to talk through anything that is troubling a student. Examples of some common topics include a change to your physical or mental health, problems with relationships, funding difficulties and managing work/life balance.

About the Faculty Student Advisers
Claire has worked for the service for two and a half years. Previously to that she had over ten years of experience working in the voluntary sector in the area of Health and Social Care. In her role as a Student Advisor Claire leads on Medicine and Gateway programmes.
Amy joined the team in November 2016 when the service extended it's provision from Medicine and Dentistry to cover all faculty students, both undergraduate and postgraduate. Prior to this Amy worked in the University in roles supporting students in the Halls of Residence and before that in Medicine and Dentistry Admissions and undergraduate administration for Veterinary programmes. She also has previous experience of work in the voluntary sector fields of Health and Social Care.
They support the Applied Anatomy, intercalating and postgradute students jointly.
Although Claire and Amy lead on different subject areas they are both well versed in the structure and requirements of all programmes within the Faculty of Health Sciences. Please feel free to contact either of them for advice.
