Summer abroad opportunities

If a year or semester placement is not the right option for you, there are still plenty of ways to gain international experience and develop new skills.

Update for 2020/2021:

Due to the pandemic and the ongoing uncertainty around international travel, all in-person summer programmes have been cancelled for 2021.

You can still gain international experience and develop new skills by taking part in a virtual international activity. Have a look at some of the virtual opportunities offered by our partners. For virtual opportunities with a fee, you can apply for a Global Opportunities Scholarship to help cover the cost.

Some UoB summer programmes will run in a virtual format, although participation will be limited to students from certain schools. If you would like to be on the waiting list for a virtual UoB summer programme, please register your interest.
