We are pleased to announce a MATES seminar with Dr Farishta Yasmin on the topic of: Exploration of algae & lichen and their potential applications.
Abstract:
In this presentation, Farishta will discuss how we can leverage locally available algae and lichen species that can be utilized for various purposes. Several examples will be discussed to highlight the identification of algae and lichen as well as their practical applications, such as biofertilizer potential of algae, removal of contaminants from soil and water, dye degradation using algal species and druglikeness properties of lichens.
