We are pleased to announce James Eaton will be speaking at a HotStuff seminar on: Catastrophe Risk Modelling - What, why and how?

Abstract:

After finishing his Volcanology masters course at the University of Bristol last year, James joined Risk Management Solutions, now Moody's RMS, in their London office. Moody's RMS specialises in solutions which allow clients to understand and quantify catastrophic risk. Initially, the company specialised in risk associated with natural hazards such as earthquakes and hurricanes. However, more recently the company has developed models to help clients understand risk associated with terrorism, cyber-attacks and infectious diseases too. Moody’s RMS now has over 300 catastrophe risk models. Today, Moody's RMS models are used by insurers and reinsurers to write around $2 trillion USD of Property and Casualty insurance. James works in the Event Response team within Model Development at Moody's RMS, monitoring the globe for significant events and responding with modelling information where appropriate.
