BAPs
Bristol Andros ProjectS (BAPS) was a collection of field studies undertaken in June/July 2012 on North Andros in the Bahamas. The main driver for this work was part of Katherine Cooper's PhD studies but it incorporated the following additional projects:
- MSci project “Karstic porosity in shallow Pleistocene limestones: characterising lateral variability using extended sections exposed in water supply trenches, North Andros, Bahamas” (George Barker)
- MSci project “Assessing natural and anthropogenic impacts on carbonate island ground-water resources: modelling the fresh water lens on North Andros Island, Bahamas” (Mike Rudd)
- Downhole biogeochemistry of a temperature stratified blue hole
- Daily variations in lake geochemistry
- Actual measurements of dissolution rates of limestone
The exploits of the projects were reported in a blog during the trip.
