Insurance for students in University accommodation

Basic personal belongings insurance is part of your University residence contract. Find out what’s covered and how to make a claim. 

What's covered

Cover4Insurance provides your Students Possessions Insurance. The policy number is BRIS2025. 

Check the summary of cover document carefully. Your policy may not insure everything and will include conditions.

For example:

  • bicycles are not insured by this policy.
  • mobile phones are only covered when in your room and are not insured for accidental damage.

If you need to insure more items, you can purchase extra insurance directly from Cover4insurance.

How to make a claim

Fill in the form on the cover4insurance claims webpage to make a claim.

Important:

You must report thefts/unprovoked physical assault to the police within 24 hours.

Cover4insurance will need to see proof of ownership for lost or damaged items. Please keep copies of purchase receipts for expensive items such as laptops and cameras.
