We are happy to receive requests for short term internships from both University of Bristol students and those from other institutions. Funding for internships is limited so we regret that we can only offer a small number of such placements each year. Applicants with access to full or partial funding from alternative sources are encouraged.

Applicants should submit the following documentation by email to composites-institute@bristol.ac.uk for consideration by our academic team:

  1. A Curriculum Vitae (2 pages maximum)
  2. A letter of support from an academic supervisor/tutor within your current institute.
  3. An application statement (1 page maximum) describing:
    • Why you wish to perform an internship, clearly describing your specific areas of interest and how they align with our own current research activities.
    • How long you wish the internship to be (this must be a minimum of 3 months and a maximum of 1 year).
    • How the internship will benefit your own personal development and career aspirations (e.g. it will add value to a current MSc project and/or it will enable an insight to potential PhD research opportunities).
