The forum was structured around three core sessions: Innovation in Advanced Materials, Innovation in Aerospace, and Industry Requirements in Composites, with each session showcasing leading research from a range of presenters. Together, these discussions highlighted the sector’s commitment to advancing technology and addressing industry needs, while reinforcing the collaborative culture that defined the event.
The final session, “Reflections from Chairs”, brought the day to a thoughtful close with composites experts Stuart Kitney, Angelo Emmi, and Faye Smith reflecting on the importance of the research presented and the conversations shared.
BCI Co-director Prof. Ole Thomsen said “The Composites Innovation Forum showcased both the depth and breadth of the research and innovation activities conducted by BCI and NCC. It made a compelling case for why “better together” is not just another buzzword, but actually demonstrates how BCI and NCC co-delivers research and innovation covering TRL1-7.”
NCC Academic Liaison Dr. Giuseppe Dell'Anno said “It’s easy to forget the sheer breadth of research space that NCC and BCI cover together: events like this bring to the fore just how powerful constructive collaboration can be, and how effective the existing combination between the two institutions is in chaperoning embryonic ideas into the commercial world.”
