For his final year project, he worked with Prof. Steve Marsden on finding faster routes for the synthesis of tetrahyrdoquinolines. In 2018 he completed a summer placement with Prof. Adam Nelson, working on fragment decoration for fragment based drug discovery. Joseph was also the chair of the health and safety committee in the School of Chemistry.
- Mehul Jesani (MSci)Graduated from the University of Cambridge in 2017. During his final year project, he worked with Professor Matthew Gaunt towards the total synthesis of the natural product, FR901483, via a C–H carbonylation reaction. After graduation, Mehul worked in oncology drug discovery at AstraZeneca for two years.
- Jenny Jiang (MSc)Graduated from UCL in 2019. In her masters project, she worked with Professor Jim Anderson on synthesising water soluble near IR dyes for photoacoustic tomographic imaging. She previously graduated with a bachelor's degree in 2017 from Imperial College London. And in 2018, worked as an intern at Novartis in Basel, Switzerland working on the selective ortho-metalation of fluoroarenes.
- Felix de Courcy-Ireland (MSci)Graduated from Imperial College London in 2019. In his final year project, he synthesized a model system to study the biogenesis of the marine natural product marilzanin under the supervision of Prof. Chris Braddock. He spent the summer of 2017 working in the laboratories of Dr. Andrew Ashley at Imperial College, working on Frustrated Lewis Pair chemistry - and in the summer of 2018 he worked for eight weeks in Seoul National University optimising the photoredox-catalysed formation of sulfones in the laboratories of Prof. Chulbom Lee.
