Social and cultural events and activities
A Bristol Summer is more than just your academic programme. Each week, you can take part in several exciting activities, led by our friendly and welcoming student mentors. All these activities are included in your programme fee.
The social and leisure programme varies from year to year, but here are some examples of the activities that past students have enjoyed:
- Escape room
- An English garden party
- A summer ceilidh with a live band
- Karaoke
- Interactive darts & mini golf
- BBQ and inflatable games
- Harbourside boat tours
- Dinners in the city
- Virtual street art tour (online programmes only)

Bristol has been absolutely amazing, filled with a unique culture and wonderful people. It’s vibrant yet peaceful, historic yet alive. I couldn’t have asked for a better place to call home for the summer.

Weekend excursions
Our weekend excursions give you the chance to go beyond Bristol and discover some of the most amazing cities and attractions in the south of England. The cost of these trips is included in your programme fee - just join us on the coach, ready to explore!
Some of the destinations we've visited in previous years:
- Windsor Castle - Explore one of the official residences of the British Monarchy and dive into centuries of royal history.
- Stonehenge and Salisbury - Experience the mystery of this World Heritage Site and visit a medieval cathedral city nearby.
- Oxford - Enjoy a guided walking tour of this historic university city, known for its iconic architecture and Harry Potter filming locations!
- Bath - Visit the famous Roman Baths and spend the afternoon strolling around this elegant Georgian city.
