The 2024 Investing in Early/Mid-Career Cancer Researchers scheme is now OPEN for applications of up to £30,000
It is recognised that there remain significant challenges in securing funding when first establishing an independent research programme. To support these future leaders in the field, the University Cancer Research Fund has established a scheme that will provide funding (up to £30k) to help launch their research careers. We will support those involved in cancer research from across the University; we particularly encourage applications from researchers working in or collaborating with, people outside the traditional medical fields.
The application form, terms and conditions and eligibility criteria can be viewed and downloaded from the Network's SharePoint site (UoB only).
If you encounter any difficulties accessing the site, please contact Catherine Brown. Any enquiries regarding the scheme itself should be directed to uob-crf@bristol.ac.uk.
Successful awardees are expected to submit an interim (after one year) and a final report. You will need to indicate if you work with animals and are happy to be identified as such in this report; please note these reports are submitted to the University's Global Engagement team who share them with donors. They also appear on the UCRF website.
The 2024 seedcorn scheme is now closed.
This fund is intended to help researchers with pump-priming grants or small items of equipment for projects concerned with cancer. Special weight is placed on proposals that increase the chances of future external funding from charities or research councils, and/or which involve collaborative research.
The scheme is open to all academic staff members at the University of Bristol from all Faculties who conduct research in any cancer area. We particularly encourage applications from early career researchers and researchers working in, or collaborating with, people outside the traditional medical faculties. Non-staff members and external partners are welcome to be co-investigators on applications.
