Infections and Cancer: Missed opportunities for prevention

Abstract: Cancer is by far the most common non-communicable disease in Uganda and the majority of cases are caused by underlying infections. Existing approaches to control such infections, if more widely used, could significantly reduce the burden of malignant disease.

Biography: Rob Newton is Professor of Clinical Epidemiology at the University of York and a visiting Professor at the MRC/Uganda Virus Research Institute in Entebbe.
