Hosted by the Avon Longitudinal Study of Parents and Children (ALSPAC)
This event will open up conversations about the design, future and opportunities within ALSPAC. As the study moves into its next stages, we are extremely keen to advertise the study and what it does, but also invite opinions and contributions to the planning of next steps. We will be expanding this discussion to a broader audience in June, but in the first instance we would like to focus on inviting all our Bristol collaborators, friends and colleagues to be part of this discussion. We will be reaching out to key members of relevant Faculties, Schools and Institutes based at the University of Bristol to attend.
At this event we are planning to:
- Present a selection of the achievements realised during the current ALSPAC award
- Discuss future opportunities with our key Bristol researchers
- Gather ideas for our next grant application to fund the future of ALSPAC for the next 5-10 years
Part of this event will include plenary presentations from Bristol-based and leading researchers in three exemplar topic areas (Golam Khandakar – mental health, James Dodd – respiratory health, Ellen Brooks-Pollock – infectious disease), who have worked closely with ALSPAC. We will also hold open outreach sessions with team members available to discuss thoughts and ideas and from which we will gather information about the best use of the study.
