Population Health Science Institute symposium: Health consequences of environmental and climate change: research and impact

The symposium aims to showcase research highlights within Bristol and its ongoing partnerships with external institutes (e.g. Bristol Health Partners, the Met Office, the National Institute of Health Research and outreach work with schools) to address health consequences of environmental and climate change.

The topic was chosen as it is a University of Bristol strategic area, and we are looking to bring together researchers from a wide range of research expertise and disciplines (many who may not have worked specifically in this area before) to think about opportunities to work more on health-research questions raised by environmental and climate change.

The symposium will consider:

  • How could existing health research embrace environmental and climate change as an issue?
  • What can the Population Health Science Institute, University of Bristol and its external partnerships bring to this emerging field?
  • What skills do we have that are relevant?
  • What are the right / best questions to be asking?
  • Who should we be partnering with to advance the research we could do in this area?
