Methods in Evidence Synthesis seminar (MESS)
An exponential increase in the number of systematic reviews in recent years means it’s likely that someone on earth is doing a similar review to yours. Although one of the PROSPERO registry's aims is to reduce systematic review duplicates, reviews of similar PICOs are still widely seen. It can be frustrating and uncomfortable to find someone ‘beat you to the post’. I recently found my self in this teeth-grinding situation in a few projects, including the main review I was to do for my NIHR Fellowship. In this MESS session, I will share my journey and a few case studies with the BARR/MESS members to discuss strategies that might be taken when we face published duplicates. All members are invited and welcome to share their thoughts and ideas during the session.
