Cellular bases for patient response to conventional cancer therapies

Hosted by the European Association for Cancer Research

The EACR conference on "Cellular bases for patient response to conventional cancer therapies" will focus on the most recent studies that have uncovered novel molecular pathways unexpectedly involved in response to conventional anticancer therapy.

Moving away from the historical cell line-based preclinical explorations, a series of studies have recently investigated the effects of conventional chemotherapy or hormone therapy directly in patients. Thanks to these innovative approaches, unanticipated additional modes of action have been discovered, together with unforeseen in vivo-validated cellular effects, which altogether open novel opportunities for mechanism-based combinations.

A panel of speakers involved in cutting-edge studies on the biological and cellular bases for therapeutic response in cancer will share their vision on how these disruptive discoveries could be exploited to rethink the use of conventional therapies, and to ultimately improve cancer therapeutics.
