Cancer Research UK Manchester Centre Launch Celebration
Oglesby Cancer Research Building, 555 Wilmslow Road, Manchester M20 4GJ & online
The Cancer Research UK Manchester Centre Launch Celebration event will mark the launch of the new Centre following the successful renewal of research funding for a further five years by Cancer Research UK to be part of its new Centre Network.
During this showcase, the Centre Director, Prof Robert Bristow will outline the future vision and direction for the Centre and our research theme leads will present the upcoming research areas being investigated in the Centre.
A limited number of tickets are available to join us in person in the Oglesby Cancer Research Building, Withington, Manchester. Due to ongoing COVID-19 restrictions, the number of places available within the Lecture Theatre is currently being capped at below 50%.
The event will also be available via Zoom for anyone outside of Manchester or not able to join us in person on the day.
Successfully renewed for a further five years as part of Cancer Research UK's new network of seven research centres across the UK, the Cancer Research UK Manchester Centre is a translational research centre that delivers world-leading research across five cross-cutting research themes. Our work covers five cross-cutting research themes:
- Cancer Early Detection
- Biomarker Sciences
- Integrative Pathology
- Radiotherapy Bioadaption
- Experimental Cancer Medicine
Based in Withington, Manchester, the centre benefits from the strong links created with The Christie NHS Foundation Trust, the largest single-site cancer hospital in Europe, the expertise and facilities within the Cancer Research UK Manchester Institute, a core funded research institute, and The University of Manchester.
