Digital Futures Symposium II

Hosted by the Bristol Digital Futures Institute

In Part One held on 19 January 2022, we brought together an interdisciplinary mix of panellists from academia, business, government and civil society to explore the BDFI agenda:

  • The challenge of creating fair and sustainable digital futures
  • How to shift towards 'sociotechnical' processes of innovation
  • Realizing these ambitions with next generation networks (6G)

Recordings of the presentations are now available, and a short summary of ideas and themes arising will be made available shortly.

In this next event, join us to share, debate and consolidate ideas about how we can drive disruption through sociotechnical innovation, and put these ideas ‘into action’ through a series of curated discussions.

Together, we will explore a current development to make a digital city for the future. We will examine this vision and the progress towards it to bring life to our sociotechnical approach - combining questions about cutting edge technology development with concerns for sustainability, inclusion and prosperity. In collaborative sessions with colleagues from industry, academia and policy we will work to identify the implications for applying a sociotechnical approach across our everyday work.

The event will also allow us to share more about our world-leading facilities – launching in Spring 2022 as part of the Temple Quarter Enterprise Campus - and also be able to explore our exciting exhibitor zone.
