Bristol Mentors

Bristol Mentors is the University of Bristol’s alumni mentoring programme, providing career-focused support for students from under-represented backgrounds by matching them with an alumni mentor.

The aim of Bristol Mentors is to:

As a Bristol Mentor, you will spend regular time working with a student mentee for one year, fully supported by dedicated University staff and services. By working with a student, you will help them to set and achieve career goals, become more aware of wider career opportunities, explore potential professions and industries, and broaden their professional network.

Why become an alumni mentor?

What makes Bristol Mentors unique for students is you – our alumni. As alumni, you know what it's like to be both a student and a graduate of Bristol and have valuable insight into both the challenges and opportunities our students may encounter as they consider their progression.

Current students and recent graduates face a variety of pressures when considering their next steps after university. There has never been a greater need for supporting students on this journey and a better time for mentoring to contribute as a means of doing so.

What are we looking for?

To make the programme a success we need mentors with different experiences, and from an array of subjects, disciplines, and careers.

We are looking for alumni:
