This evening of celebration on Thursday 10 September will feature opportunities to meet the Campus’s new faculty and scholars, tour this inspiring new space for research and learning in Powai, and learn more about this landmark moment of Bristol meeting Mumbai.
We are delighted that this event will also include a keynote lecture from the University of Bristol’s inaugural Shanta Professorial Chair, Professor Dann Mitchell, focused on the theme of the Bristol-Mumbai Planetary Health Challenge for 2026 - 2028: climate change, extreme events, and human health. The evening will also feature a very unique degree ceremony, as our President, Professor Evelyn Welch, confers an honorary Doctor of Letters (DLitt) degree on esteemed writer, translator and cultural critic Shanta Gokhale (BA 1962).
We look forward to welcoming our partners, alumni, supporters and friends to the Mumbai Enterprise Campus in September, as we celebrate together this remarkable new chapter for Bristol and Mumbai.

Guests who are unable to join us for 6 pm are welcome to join from 7 pm for our leadership addresses, honorary degree ceremony and drinks reception.
