Bristol Mumbai Celebration

The University of Bristol opens its first international campus in Mumbai this year, and we’d love to have you celebrate with us. 

Join us on Tuesday 24 February 2026 at the Trident Nariman Point in Mumbai for a spectacular day of talks, insights, celebrations and an opportunity to hear about why this transformative campus presents such an amazing opportunity for students in Mumbai and beyond.  

This celebration event includes different sessions throughout the day, and you are welcome to register for as many as you like. Please see below for the details on the different sessions 

3:30 pm - 4:30 pm: Welcome and Keynote Address with Kushe Bahl, Partner at McKinsey & Company  

Professor Evelyn Welch, Vice Chancellor and President of the University of Bristol welcomes guests and introduces our keynote speaker, Kushe Bahl. Kushe Bahl is Partner at McKinsey & Company, a leading management consultant, AI expert and strategist. Please arrive at 2:45 pm for registration.  

4:30 pm – 5:10 pm: Panel discussion  

A panel comprising leading Bristol academics – including Professor Esther McDermott, Pro Vice-Chancellor for the Faculty of Arts, Law and Social Sciences - and Mumbai-based industry figures. Please arrive at 4 pm for registration.  

5:10 pm to 5:45 pm: High Tea 

A refreshment break with soft drinks. Please arrive at 4:40 pm for registration.  

5:45 pm – 7 pm: Alumni in conversation with Rhea Mazumdar Singhal (BSc 2004) and Professor Brian Squire, Dean of the University of Bristol Business School 

Alumna Rhea Mazumdar Singhal (BSc 2004) is an award-winning founder, pioneer of sustainable business practice in India and recipient of the Nari Shakti Puraskar, India’s highest civilian honour for women. Having studying Pharmacology at the University of Bristol, she established a successful career at Pfizer before moving back to India where she founded the highly successful eco-friendly packaging brand Ecoware.  

In a candid in-conversation, Rhea shares her entrepreneurial journey and lessons from a spectacular life and career with Professor Brian Squire, Dean of the University of Bristol’s Business School. Please arrive at 5:15 pm for registration. 

7 pm – 8:30 pm: Evening networking reception  

Join Bristol alumni, academics, industry professionals, civic and cultural leaders, educators and pioneers for an evening networking reception with soft drinks, tea and coffee and refreshments. Please arrive at 6:30 pm for registration.
