The London Branch of Bristol Alumni are organising a Hidden Cambridge Walking Tour in conjunction with the Cambridge Branch, and all alumni are invited to attend.  

Led by a qualified guide, this will not be a traditional tour of the Colleges but will be an opportunity to learn something of the hidden history of the city and University.  

Programme 

• 11:00 am - Meet in front of St Bene’t’s Church (the oldest in Cambridge), opposite the Eagle pub in Bene’t Street, which is where Crick and Watson announced their discovery of ‘the secret of life’ 

• 11:30 am – Tour commences, and the group will walk at a leisurely pace for 90 minutes, before stopping at a local pub for a light lunch (with vegetarian options) and a cup of tea or coffee 

• 2:15 pm – Second half of the walk commences 

• 4 pm – End of tour, finishing at a tea shop for tea / coffee and cake 

If alumni wish to make a weekend of the trip, the London Branch can arrange to meet up for evening dinner at a local restaurant. 

Booking 

Tickets for alumni and guests are £50 and include lunch at a local pub with tea or coffee, as well as the tea/coffee and cake at the teashop. Additional drinks are to be bought separately.
