Isambard-AI can perform in one second what it would take the entire global population 80 years to achieve. Funded by a £225M investment from the UK government, it is the 11th fastest supercomputer in the world and sets Bristol on a pioneering trajectory as an international leader in the field of AI research.
Deployed in record time, Isambard-AI will provide a crucial boost to the nation’s research capabilities. It has the potential to transform research across disciplines, with applications in areas such as healthcare, climate science, data analysis, robotics and more.
You are invited to discover why Bristol was selected to be the new home of this world-class AI research facility and what might be coming next for the supercomputer.
Join Professor Simon McIntosh-Smith, Director of the Bristol Centre for Supercomputing, to learn how Isambard-AI came to be and what early AI science results it has already enabled. The lecture will also explore how Isambard-AI has been deployed in record time, the ways it might be used in the future, and why the UK government chose Bristol to host this major resource.
