Cycle Events Programmes
Precinct (main campus) Cycle Clinics
- A FREE Cycle Clinic takes place every other Wednesday throughout the year. From May to September the Cycle Clinic is held on the grassed area outside Royal Fort Lodge (opposite Senate House). During the winter months, it is situated outside the Centre for Sport, Exercise and Health
- Mechanics from Taylored Cycles will be able to give your bike a free tune-up and carry out basic repairs
- The mechanics usually have spare parts (see Taylored Cycles Spare Parts List (2015) (PDF, 316kB)

Cycle lock and light sales
- Lock and light sales are held alongside the Cycle Clinics. Please see the cycle events progamme above.
- Locks and lights can also be purchased from The Basket shop in The Richmond Building. You cannot buy cycle locks and lights from their online shop.
- Gold Sold Secure Cycle locks are £10 (student discounted price) and £22.32 (staff).
- Cycle lights sets including batteries are £2.75 (student discounted prices) and £5.47 (staff). Further details and prices.
- You can get your bicycle security marked for free on request at Royal Fort Lodge or at the cycle security marking event (see the cycle events progamme above). Your bicycle will be permanently marked with a unique code and a bike register sticker. You will be given your bike register number and a link to an online form which you will need to fill in with your details. The University will then arrange for these to be uploaded onto the BikeRegister database, which is checked by the Police.

Cycle to Work Scheme Roadshows
- Cycle to Work Scheme roadshows are run by our provider Cycle Solutions, and take place in March, April, June and July each year (2019 programme will be uploaded in due course). Staff can attend for free to ask questions and try a range of bicycles available through the scheme.

Commuter kickstart - stretching for active commuters
- The University's Centre for Sport, Exercise and Health runs a short Commuter Kickstart stretching session to support active commuters' transition into the working day. The class includes relaxation, stretching and mobilisation to intervene with postural concerns arising from active travel and desk based working environment. Suitable for all levels. Free for gym members, £1 for other staff and students.
Cycle lessons
- Free one to one cycle training is available to all University staff and students. Training is provided by a fully qualified National Standard Cycle Instructor. Whether it is getting on a bike for the first time or tackling particularly tricky sections of a journey, the training is tailor made to your needs and suitable for all levels of cyclist.
