The BVC labs process samples from studies that focus on the translational research related to mucosal vaccine development, and the mucosal immune response, to pneumococcus and meningococcus pathogens. We are particularly interested in the natural carriage of bacteria and/or viruses in healthy individuals, and how this carriage changes through infection.

As a result of the recent COVID-19 pandemic, we have temporarily altered our focus to include the spread and interactions of the SARS CoV-2 virus. This is part of a global response to ensure, and develop, more effective control measures during the pandemic.

When we collect samples from participants in our studies, we process them in our labs.
