A range of events took place in September for new students and the fun continues throughout the year. Bristol Students' Union (SU), the University and the city itself run events throughout the year. From gigs and comedy nights to debates and volunteering opportunities, there's something for everyone so you'll never be bored.

Academic introduction

You will be formally welcomed to the University. The events will also introduce you to your academic department, the academic staff you will be working with and your fellow postgraduate students.

Postgraduate research students

All postgraduate research students are invited to attend the Researcher inauguration welcome event on 9 November in the Great Hall of the Wills Memorial Building. You will be emailed an invite to the event with a link for ticket sign ups.

This event, organised by the Bristol Doctoral College, is a celebration of the work of our community of researchers and an opportunity for you to find out about the opportunities available throughout your time here.

You will be welcomed by the Vice-Chancellor and hear from current researchers. There will be a drinks reception and you'll meet other researchers from across the disciplines.
