The Strategic Projects Office are a team of highly experienced and qualified Project Managers, Business Analysts and Implementation Officers with rich and diverse experience from the business, higher education and public sectors.
We support multiple programmes and projects and provide a centre for excellence for programme and project management across the university.
We analyse business requirements and identify process improvements with process owners, stakeholders, academic and professional services staff. Using this work, we then produce detailed statements of requirement and identify potential system and process solutions with end users, systems staff and potential suppliers. We take projects through their full life-cycle, using PRINCE 2 methodology, from input into initial business case preparation and submission, project initiation, through to successful implementation and post-project review, ensuring project objectives are achieved and that agreed benefits are realised after project completion. We are responsible for the successful implementation of project systems usually, though not exclusively, IT systems to agreed specifications, in liaison with IT Serivces, users and external software providers. We:
We use PRINCE2 methodology and project governance to manage all aspects of our projects from initial Business Cases through to project closure. This rigour ensures consistency and surety across all projects, providing financial certainty, robust risk management and transparent governance and decision making. In turn this supports our aim to deliver our projects on time, on budget and to specification.
