Unison Book Club

We are a friendly and relaxed group of staff who meet on a monthly basis to discuss our current book. We will read different genres, and aim to vary between more demanding / non-fiction reads and lighter books. We want to stretch ourselves and have stimulating discussions where all views are valid.

The club is organised by the Unison Learning Reps and is open to members and non-members of Unison.

The group meets once a month – but there are two sessions on different days in the week to accommodate more people.

We are now reading Chernobyl Prayer by Alexeivich Svetlana for discussion on Tuesday 7 June 12-1pm and Thursday 9 June 1-2pm.

We are debating our next choice for July and trying to plan ahead for the rest of the year.

We meet in the Brambles Dining Room and get on with the discussion whilst many of us eat our sarnies. We aim to wrap up 10 minutes to the hour so people can get back to the office without feeling rushed. If you arrive a bit late, don't worry please just join in the discussion.

Subscription fees

There are no subscription fees, but members need to buy their own books.
