Rugby - affiliated

St Brendan's Old Boys RFC is a local rugby club and community partner of the University's Sport Exercise and Health Department. They are also the University's staff rugby club, and are keen to recruit more staff members to play rugby at all levels. All staff members joining the club will receive a free pair of rugby shorts when they've played their first game for the club.

Their 1st XV are competing in Gloucester 2 and their 2nd XV are competing in Gloucester 2 South. They are a friendly and sociable club, and welcome players of all abilities, from battle hardened veterans to complete beginners. If you haven’t played in a few years but are looking to get back into the game or just fancy a new challenge then get in touch and come along. Home games and training take place at the Coombe Dingle Sports Complex during the season.


During the rugby season:

  • Fixtures on Saturday afternoons (September through to April)
  • Training on Tuesdays and Thursday from 7pm sharp (beginning Tuesday 26th June).
