Pilates

Our classes are taught by qualified Pilates teacher Jo Batten and are designed to support people in the workplace that may spend a lot of time sitting at a desk or on their feet. Using slow, controlled movements these classes will help lengthen the spine, stretch the shoulders and hips and strengthen the deep (core) muscles that support the joints, overall improving posture, flexibility and creating more balance in the body.

This is a general level class and is suitable for beginners and those with Pilates experience, however if you have any questions about the suitability of the class for you please get in touch with Jo; joannaruthbatten@gmail.com.

Dedicated chaging facilities are not provided at the venues. You are welcome to change in the Pilates room itself or you may prefer to make your own arrangements (e.g. change before you come, or in the loos). 

The group is run on a voluntary basis. Presently it is being run by Katie Mack who is a current employee of the University. 

Payment

Payment is taken via the University's online shop. The classes have to be paid for in a block and in advance.

Please note that fees are non-refundable unless we can re-allocate your place. The only exception to this is where a medical condition prevents you from continuing. If this is the case, you will need to speak to the tutor prior to cancelling.

If you have any questions about the suitability of the class for you particularly if you have had a recent injury or have a long term back or joint condition please contact Jo Batten. This class is not suitable for pregnancy.
