What is a Photomarathon?

A Photomarathon is a photography competition with a bit of a challenge: you have to take photos of a number of themes in the correct order over a dedicated time period. The dilemma is if you reach theme four and you see something that would capture theme two, do you delete the themes that you’ve already taken and start again from theme two, or ignore it and carry on...

On the weekend of 23 - 25 May we hosted a lock down edition of the photo marathon. Many people from across Bristol took part and sent in their brilliant submissions!

Photomarathon Themes

1) Me

2) Kindness

3) View from my window

4) Lunch

5) Light

6) Hope

  • Only ONE picture to be taken for each theme
  • Photographs MUST be taken in the order listed
  • Shoot in landscape—this aids the exhibition
  • If taking pictures of children, please seek permission from their parent/guardian BEFORE doing so, and explain the pictures will be displayed in an exhibition
  • Copyright of the images will stay with the photographer
  • UoB will reserve the right to use the images for publicity without prior consent
  • All images submitted will be presented in an exhibition
