Genealogy Club

What do we do?

This group aims to bring together people who enjoy researching their family history, or helping others do their family tree. DNA testing has opened up a range of new opportunities: discovering ethnicity estimates, collaborating with cousin matches, and finding potentially ‘new’ relatives.

During meetings, we can collaborate and help each other with compiling trees, have guest lecturers, run workshops, group trips to events, maybe facilitate an event. A regular contributor to 'Family Tree' magazine, international genealogy lecturer Dr Penny Walters will be facilitating this group, and has recently had her book ‘Ethical Dilemmas in Genealogy’ published.
